November 2008

I just put Kate and Mikes 10/4 wedding proof video in the mail yesterday so they would have it in time for T-day… and despite the crazy snow and rain all day, the video arrived safe at Kate’s parents house. This was a wonderful email surprise to receive when the power came back on tonight :) Thank you Benoit’s! It was a true honor to be a part of the day :)

Meghan,
We’ve watched the video three times already. What a WONDERFUL job you did! We can’t even begin to imagine how many hours you must have spent editing it. So many delightful extras - the side-by-side shots, the music in the background (”My Cup Runneth Over”), the wonderful shots of the kids dancing…

Kate and Mike haven’t seen it yet, but have gotten lots of feedback.

They were so lucky to have found you! If you need us to give any
recommendations, put us on the list!!

Thank you for a job magnificently done!!

Ski season kicked off this week with over a foot of natural snow at Bretton Woods and The Mount Washington Resort. I just wrapped up the Dietz wedding video and it’s amazing to think this spectacular celebration took place in May 2008, and there was still snow on the Mt’s then… makes you wonder where the time goes! Jill and Ryan had one of the nicest groups of friends and family, just sincere down to earth people. I was so impressed with the bond between all the bridesmaids, as Jill’s mom summed it up, “they are all like peas from the same pod“… this was the ending to their wedding video. May 2008.

MWV Photo Contest benefits Starting Point

by Meg on November 17, 2008

I decided to enter a local photo contest as the photos were going to be used in calendars to benefit Starting Point, services for victims of domestic and sexual violence. The theme was “no place like home” so I entered a photo I snapped back in the summer of 2006 when we were having one of our last hoorah’s on Conway Lake before Dave’s dads house sold. I snagged 3rd place and got “August” which is also my b-day month. It was just great to give a photo to the calendar cause. Hopefully they will sell a lot for holiday gifts at the Framed Art Outlet (where the contest awards took place).

DJ Pat Tecce at Church Landing

by Meg on November 12, 2008

The Walsh wedding at Church Landing is definitely the topic of my week. I’ve been getting great comments, but I also need to clarify to potential clients that I don’t have to be “this involved” in your wedding dance party - by watching this video it’s evident that Martine and Kevin’s friends LOVE to party, and we had SO SO SO much fun feeding off the energy in the room which was what they wanted captured. Kevin… great “fish” move! DJ Pat Tecce once again turned the party up a notch and I will be posting specific clips on his “funnest table” game in coming weeks.

Brooklyn represents at Church Landing! I can hear the crowd going wild and see the bartenders running to get yet another wrack of glasses to fill. WOW WOW WOW! You guys never slowed down! DJ Pat Tecce was right, you would have partied until 4:30 am (and maybe you did??!)  Martine was a stunning bride - her dress and the girls bridesmaids dress were unique and fitting for such a venue. Martine and Kevin made a CD for their guests and this song was on it - they also rocked out to it at the reception…  I could go on and on about this party!  So without further adooooooooo …

Jackson NH Elopement

by Meg on November 6, 2008

11/2/08 - a beautiful day in Jackson, perfect for the union of Dawn and Richard. I love to photograph elopements because they are so intimate and laid back - never a huge rush to stick to a time schedule because its typically just the couple, the JP and I. Kim the JP performed the ceremony, which was perfectally fitting for Dawn + Richard. Kim has a great website, so if you are planning a wedding and don’t know where to start with ideas for a ceremony, KimTheJP.com is the place to start.

The pictures came out BEAUTIFULLY!! You have magical talents as a photographer. I never looked so good!! We cannot thank you enough!!
Warmest wishes.
Dawn R.

Just a few photos from their day.

One Step Ahead put on a great show at Ryan + Amandas wedding at the Mount Washington Hotel. I loved their sound, their professionalism on the stage, and the way they engaged the audience.  You can’t go wrong with a 7 piece band, their sound was solid! You can see this both clips in HD if you go direct to Vimeo, click here!

Thanks to Ever After Videos I got some inspiration to post an archive clip of the month fitting for Halloween… Josh and Lara’s true 80’s theme wedding. Yes, they got married in traditional attire, but as soon as that ceremony was over it was Tuxedo T-shirts and Jelly Shoes, Rat Tails, Mullets and Big Hair. I was there as a guest, so I didn’t have as much footage of the entire day but did edit a video together for them, this is just a snippet of the early cocktail hour. (The video is from a few years back and also NOT shot in HD, obviously)
