Mia & John: Tasting at Shaker Village
Well, My sister is tying the knot! So I get to be involved in weddings from a different perspective this time. Mia, John, Purr and I headed to Canterbury, NH home of the Shaker Village, The Shaker Table, and Hampshires Culinary Planning & Events. We met the owner of Hampshires, Mike Janis and sat down for a delectable tasting. He is in charge of the catering at the Castle in the Clouds. Here is a look at some of the food that could be at the wedding…what will Mia and John decide?
Mike Janis of Hampshire’s Culinary Planning and Event Design shows us some of the possible selections for the wedding. Meg had fun asking lots of questions and Mike explains the simplicity of the Shaker Life and the use of some of the Shaker tools. Almost all the food for the wedding will be grown at the Shaker Village, caught off the coast of NH, or raised locally. The building was “Simply” beautiful. That’s what the Shaker life was all about…simplicity!
I was overly impressed and highly recommend the Shaker Village for a wedding site too!

Susan & Drew: Jackson, NH 12/22/07
Susan and Drew (as featured below in previous post) had 18 friends and family to Jackson, NH for a great weekend of activity. Friday a sledding party, and football rivalry at the rehearsal dinner. Susan is from Indiana=Colts, and Drew=Patriots. Saturday the picture perfect winter wedding - fresh snow and rich red colors. The Eagle Mountain House hosted the dinner party for the nuptials.

Jess & Tim: Stonehurst Manor 11/10/07
Going through work from 2007 to wrap up projects I stumbled across a lost blog post! Jess & Tim’s wedding at the Stonehurst Manor. Although I specialize in wedding videos, I will on occasion do still photos for locals and people who I may know looking for basic coverage. I don’t offer any bells and whistles, just photos…captured….on a disk. Wedding videos I offer all the bells and whistles.

AJ & Kim: Watch their wedding video for the first time with Meg
I was so excited when AJ & Kim said they would be up MLK weekend. That meant we could watch the wedding video together! I met them at AJ’s, and Kim’s sister Melissa also joined in
I loved to hear the laughs when I knew a funny part was coming up, because I wasn’t sure if they had remembered or anticipated those moments. I must say AJ had a lot of good one-liners…”everyone who had a free drink tonight I want you up on the dance floor!” The clip below is just from my small Coolpix cam - no audio, just a quick clip of the Bride and Groom (and sister in law) watching the video. The girls got ready at Debony’s in Jackson.
A huge thanks to the new Mr. & Mrs. for the great props on Boston.com - click here for the full report.

What you can do with a point and shoot!
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE my job - but I also love to have fun! That’s why I live in the Mount Washington Valley and that’s why Dave and I have a small Nikon Coolpix - It’s no bigger than a cell phone, and fits in about any pocket making it extremely easy to create fun videos of any adventure. One of my mid weeks jobs when I’m not editing videos (I’m editing Manning, Boucher, Tortorella, and Bettencourt right now) is to take real estate photos for Badger Realty - I’m also a REALTOR with Badger Realty and the photo shoot was in Jackson. We strapped on the skinny skis and skied from the Village to the Eagle Mt. House. I’m using this video on my Real Estate blog too - so excuse the “self promotion” at the end… if you are getting married in Jackson come up and go skiing
Conditions are fabulous!

AJ & Kim: 10/27/07 Jackson Community Church
Photographer Tim Shellmer and I had a blast back on 10/27/07 at Kim and AJ’s wedding at the Jackson Community Church and White Mountain Hotel. This is just a funny moment from the ceremony when Rev. Pojen Lee was so excited he had them “kiss the bride” before exchanging rings… I think we all almost forgot… this is Kim’s reaction right after as she tried to tell Pojen … “um, what about the rings?”

Susan & Drew: Sledding, Football, and Fun in the Snow!

What a great end to 2007! Talk about the picture perfect winter wedding. Last December it was about 50F and no snow… when I met with Susan (who wasn’t too familiar with Jackson, being from VA Beach via Indiana) I told her it could be like ‘06…or you may need some winter white knee high boots to plow through the fresh Powder… thank goodness for the boots! Friday they went sledding at Cranmore followed by a rehearsal dinner at Delaneys Hole in the Wall.
12/22/07 Susan and Drews intimate 18 person wedding was held at the Jackson Community Church followed by a dinner reception at the Eagle Mountain House.
Thanks to Susan and Drew I will be photographing Brittany and Matt’s wedding on 3/1/08 - you can see the four of them sporting their team of choice at the Rehearsal Dinner at Delaneys. Colts vs. Patriots…. Susan is from Indiana!
What a wild full moon that afternoon hovering over Cranmore!
