Testimonials

The third testimonial in this series, here is Kim’s candid opinion of her wedding flowers, photographer, and lighting from her wedding at the The Wentworth Inn, Jackson :)

Flowers were done by the ever so talented Carrie of Dutch Bloemen Winkle…..enough said!! I had this vision of large centerpieces with dramatic tall branches, she blew it away….even surprised me with sparkly black branches that were an added glitz!

Which leads me to my great photographer Lea Morgan. She was the head of the show for my wedding. What a doll to work with. Very professional, and had a blast with my guests.

Lighting was provided by A&M Daniel out of Amherst, NH. We had the entire tent light up with pink LED’s. A small cost for a dramatic effect!

Following up to the previous post, here is Kim’s candid opinion of her wedding cake and The Wentworth Inn, Jackson :)

The Wentworth….not sure where to begin! Kathleen, the wedding coordinator became one of my best friends through the planning process! The best part is that our family was able to ‘take over’ the inn for the entire weekend! I recommend it to anyone getting married, an intimate setting, and an entire weekend to spend with your loved ones…not just one day! The staff, the food, the accommodations, top notch! Our suite had a private outdoor hottub with a flat screen tv!

Beth at Sugarmaker Bakery did our cake….not only was it beautiful, but everyone said one of the best tasting cakes they had at a wedding!

Katie + Eric were blanketed with good fortune and amazing weather for their picture perfect snow capped wedding day at the Omni Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods, NH. Stunning all around! Ladies must watch to see all of Katie’s details and to learn about their story… and see her dress in part 2! (Which does end abruptly, but her actual video continues on, this is just a snippet for web.) My new favorite quote from Eric’s sister, “Who doesn’t love Katie…” and it’s true, she was instantly a friend :)

You are really the sweetest person. I can’t thank you enough for the beautiful job you did on our wedding video. What an amazing thing to have to remember our wedding forever.

I can’t tell you the amount of people we have had tell us what a delight you were at the wedding and also that you blended in so well. Most people didn’t even know you were there. Thank you for doing such an amazing job!! To be honest, I never dreamt the video would be as amazing as it is. I knew it would be great, but this seriously surpassed that! You are a master at what you do! You really chose the right profession!

If you ever need me to give any referrals for future brides and couples, please let me know, I would love to let them know how wonderful you are. – Katie

Hi Meg! Just finished watching our video and we LOVE it!!! Words cannot express how we are feeling right now! It is beautiful, emotional, fun, exciting, EVERYTHING! And the best part is we get to watch it forever!! We love the way you set it up – it’s literally perfect; the scenes, the music, the way it all fits, it’s all PERFECT! Seriously, you don’t need to change a thing :) I love it because it went by so fast, but I can see it all on the video and get parts that I missed. This is perfect, Meg. Thank you so so so SO much for this – it is beautiful! I love it :)

I was booked, but…

by Meg on October 21, 2009

The name Esther MacDonald keeps popping up in my blog posts. She’s a huge cheerleader for me, but more importantly a great family friend. Her daughter Kaley’s wedding is featured in the rotating photos to the right on my blog, her son Colin’s wedding video preview will be posting Friday. In February Esther ran into bride Kim Hillis below at a bookstore in MA and gave her my number to call me, but I was booked. I did not hesitate to get her info on other vendors in the area because I wanted to make sure she had a positive wedding experience and a wonderful celebration here in Jackson… even though I wasn’t going to be a part of it. What I’m trying to say is that I genuinely care about each and every person that contacts me. If I can’t help you, if you are looking for footage of a live band, videos of floral designs and decor at a certain venue, let me know. I have more material then what’s accessible on the website.

Kim’s wedding was September 12th at The Wentworth Inn, Jackson. She was so kind to send photos last week when I coresponded with her about how it went. Her review is in and I can’t wait to post her praise soon here on the blog.

Truth be told, the hardest part about my job is having to say “I’m already booked” because I do want to help everyone relive their day. I love all my clients, and am so grateful for the opportunity to provide this service to those who do book me. It was so cool to hear Kim’s feedback and finally see a photo of a couple, who I guess in some small way I helped influence their wedding day :) Stay tuned for more great local vendor reviews from Kim.

Hi Meg,
I just wanted to thank you for all of your help during my wedding planning process. Your recommendations were all so fabulous! Matt Spofford was an incredible DJ, and I could not be happier with how everything turned out…..
I cannot thank you enough for your help, and please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you in the future! Even though I did not use your videographer services, I would be more than happy to be a reference of character, or provide any of the connections I have made while planning my wedding!

Thanks Again!
Kim

Meg,
Oh my gosh!!!!!! Words cannot express how amazing that movie was :)
I literally started bawling during it.. it was the most amazing thing to see the day unfold again! And you touched me with the wonderful way it was drafted. I cherish having my grandfather and parents on video.. as well as having the opportunity to show it to our children in the future.

Thank you doesn’t seem to be enough.
We are blessed with the beauty that you provided!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Kim

I sometimes have to pinch myself to see if this is real – I just can’t believe I get to do this for a job, and meet such AWESOME people, kind, loving and appreciative people. Its just amazing. Kim and Shawn booked me just one month out, a true blessing in disguise that was the one Saturday in August none of my prior inquiries had booked. I can’t imagine having missed it and the possibility of meeting such a fun group of people!! From the minute I walked in the Amster Suites and could hear (but not see Kim) I knew my smile muscles were going to be hurting that day. She just radiated, such an open and honest person, so thoughtful, and so close to her family, which was really special to see. I can’t say enough about the Langille and Burke families except I really hope to see them all back in Jackson someday :)

This is the video open – Kim is a Sign Language Teacher (hence the opening “Will You Marry Me”).

Jill + Dan’s Wedding Video: Bethel Inn

by Meg on September 8, 2009

“I know I gushed before, but honestly, Dan and I are so happy with the finished product and I’m beyond happy we got a video. It’s perfect and you did an amazing job! (I had complete confidence in you though, after watching all the footage from your site!) What a lucky day it was that we were driving to the Eagle Mountain House (it wasn’t even an option for the venue, we had some extra time and I wanted to show it to Dan!) and on our way back there you were!”

Jill and Dan were married 6/27/09 at the Bethel Inn, in Bethel, Maine (see their preview here). Dan and I lived in the same dorm at UNH so he knew who I was when they spotted me filming a wedding in Jackson, NH last year, then found me online! I love how that happened!

Jill’s grandmother wrote a poem describing the engagement, that she recited during cocktail hour, and it set the stage for a great opening sequence that followed with sound bites from other family members, telling how their story unfolds.

“We showed some friends the video Friday night and they said they wished they had seen it before they got married (two years ago), they would have had one done too! I’m so glad that we have it. :) Thank you so much!!”

This is the end of the ceremony, through the receiving line and photo shoot, into cocktail hour. Couples choose the music, and this fit their personalities just perfect!

Best of NH Bride 2009

by Meg on September 4, 2009

bridenhlogo
(MANCHESTER, NH) – Meg Simone Film & Video Art has been selected by the readers of New Hampshire Magazine’s BRIDE as “Best of Bride 2009” for “Best Videographer” and “Best Overall Vendor”. The winners, who were selected in an on-line pole are listed in the current issue of BRIDE, on news stands now, and on the website www.bridenh.com

“It’s the magazine’s first annual poll,” says Barbara Coles, editor of BRIDE. “We felt the poll was a way to recognize people in New Hampshire’s bridal industry who strive every day to provide great service for couples who are planning one of the most important days in their life. We also wanted to give those who benefit from the training, experience and expertise of wedding professionals a chance to express their satisfaction.”

The poll, which was conducted from the beginning of April to the end of June, had 61 categories. “I’m honored that my clients, and other wedding vendor friends showed their appreciation for my services. I love my job and feel extremely fortunate that I get to help people relive their moment for years and generations to come. Although being “award winning” is a tribute, I will continue to strive to be a “people winning” videographer. Modern cinematic trends aside, my clients story and event is of utmost importance.”

BRIDE is a twice-yearly publication of New Hampshire Magazine, the state’s largest lifestyle magazine. It is part of McLean Communications of Manchester, a publishing company that also includes New Hampshire Business Review, New Hampshire Home, Parenting New Hampshire, Boom! and NH.com.

Shannon + Ray: Church Landing Wedding Film

by Meg on August 26, 2009

Shannon and Ray had a wonderful day wedding at Church Landing, with some of the most unique and fitting decor I’ve ever seen! Ladd Hill Gardens did a great job tying in the use of succulents and birch trees to the Winnipesaukee Ball Room. You have to take a peak! Shannon dress, Ray’s suit and the Antique Model A Ford, were a perfect match to the venue and setting. I was only booked for three hours of coverage so we fit a lot into that time, which you can see in the full highlight below.  To see the absolutely amazing photos from their wedding, check out Jennifer Stone’s blog post here.

Dear Meg,
We just wanted to let you know that we absolutely love the video package you sent us this week. Everything was beautiful and professional….You gave us such a wonderful gift- the gift of being able to see and remember our wedding! We cannot thank you enough. You are extremely talented and we are so happy to have worked with you.
Shannon :)

This is a sneak peak at Shawn + Kim Burke’s wedding at the Wentworth Inn, Jackson, NH. It was impossible to put the best moments into one minute. There were so many amazing things that happened pre-ceremony as Kim was getting ready, and we all know it was the most energetic and intense dance party on the planet!! Thanks to Ernie of LocoMotion DJ Productions. So, this is just a quick collage of some aspects of the day :) The rest…. Late August 2009 – stay tuned!

Emilie was my camper at Camp Huckins oh so many years ago (1994-1995?) so I was elated when she called about her wedding video! It was such a cool feeling to walk into her bridal suite after all these years! She was beyond stunning, as was the wedding party. The details, the dress! It was an honor to be there. Both Em and her sister Jodi went to Huckins and I got to meet Jodi’s future Nellie girls, Georgia and Penelopie who were = as adorable as the Groom Erich. I love their story… they went to middle school together, lost touch and then ran into each other in San Diego! Thankfully they both came back East, and Jodi didn’t loose her #1 Babysitter :)

Meg I love it. I just got home from my honeymoon an hour ago and I can’t stop watching it. My whole family loves it too. Thank you so much for being there! I can’t wait to see more….you are amazing.” – Emilie (The Bride – June 19, 2009 Wedding)

Why Hire a Wedding Videographer?

by Meg on March 21, 2009

Really… I’m not trying to hijack Samantha Warren Wedding’s blog – but every time I read the latest “Bride Side” volume, something jumps out at me. This time, it was bride Aubyn’s “I wish I had:” – and I don’t make this up… this is a screen shot from Sam’s blog below:

sww_-videographer

It was kind of interesting because after I read this I went to a spin class and ran into the Aunt of a bride whose wedding I filmed this past summer. She told me with regret that one of the brides good friends had just passed away and that I had featured him in the video quite a bit.  If capturing irreplaceable moments are top on your priority list…. keep me in mind :) And when considering wedding photographers, a “must click” is to Samantha’s website, here.

Jackson Elopement Testimonials

by Meg on February 16, 2009

For Valentines Day I couldn’t ask for better Testimonials from past clients. One came as a HUGE surprise as I had not heard from them since their elopement day 7/24/08!  Thank you Devry + Dane for making my week :)

I also want to let people know that for the summer and fall months I am not booking elopements in advance for Saturdays as those are currently reserved for full wedding video bookings.
Most elopements take place on Sundays, or Mid week so it’s not an issue, but I have received a handful of requests for Saturday elopements this summer. My apologizes in advance :)

Seacoast Bride – Where are you?

by Meg on January 16, 2009

After receiving the following communication from Lindsay and Derek, (stunning couple from 8/31/08 wedding at the Shaker Table) – I ran out to the grocery store to look for a copy, but AHHHH Hannaford doesn’t carry it this far North, and we really are lacking for places to pick up such literature… SO if anyone out there happens to have the latest copy of Seacoast Bride – let me know where you got it so I can pick up a copy :) If not I can also order a copy by printing out the on-line order form.

Thanks for the kind words Lindsay – and I’ll feature photographs of the spread here on my blog when I get a copy :)

NH Wedding Video Testimonials

by Meg on January 8, 2009

Usually I receive letters or emails from couples, on occasion a parent –  but I almost fell out of my chair when Jess (from 6/28/08 at the Mt. Washington Hotel) emailed me her friends comments! Thanks Jess :)

I also revealed the video to all of my girlfriends and the comments were:
“I don’t even want to get married but this video makes me want to”
“I’m not even dating anyone, but when I do get married, I want her!”
“The best video I’m ever seen.”
- Seriously, they LOVED it!!!

NH Wedding Video DVD Menus & Testimonial

by Meg on December 2, 2008

Kate & Mike: October 4, 2008 at Church Landing – Meredith, NH
The First Response:
Just…..WOW.  Meg, you are truly an artiste, my dear.  The video is nothing short of incredible.  The way you tied the music in, the background voices, the split scenes, the interviews….amazing!  We’ve all been crying & laughing for two days watching & re-watching it over & over!!!  What a gift you have.  I think my favorites are at the end of “Already in a Daydream” when the kids are dancing around in a circle & you flash back & forth between that & different scenes leading up to that point, as the music feels like it is spinning, and also the very end of the long video with the “antique” feel to the film.  OH MY GOD those parts took my breath away & of course made me a puddle!  I cannot believe the moments you captured so perfectly–you’ve created the most amazing memories for us and we will have them forever.  Even better than the way we remembered it all in our heads :)   Meg, you are so incredibly talented!  I really can’t say enough about how amazed we all are—it’s all we keep talking about (when we’re not watching it!).

I feel like I am saying the same thing over & over but we’re still just blown away by it & I am overwhelmed with excitement and emotion!!!  I will probably be sending you a bazillion more emails just raving about how talented you are & how grateful we are to you for capturing our day so perfectly.  THANK YOU!!!

A few days later:

Oh my gosh, Meg!  I still just can’t get over how gifted & creative you are.  Your video makes it seem like this amazingly unique & romantic movie that no one has ever seen before!!!  I’m just so impressed at how talented you are, girl.  We have watched it like 50 times!!!

I loved how Kate and Mike’s wedding program was artfully designed by Kate’s Aunt. Everyone at the wedding kept analyzing the programs trying to figure out how they were drawn. I was so excited because it gave me perfect DVD Menu Options. I always try to incorporate items from your wedding into the menus or graphics in your video – these happened to be particularly unique and creative so I wanted to share.

I just put Kate and Mikes 10/4 wedding proof video in the mail yesterday so they would have it in time for T-day… and despite the crazy snow and rain all day, the video arrived safe at Kate’s parents house. This was a wonderful email surprise to receive when the power came back on tonight :) Thank you Benoit’s! It was a true honor to be a part of the day :)

Meghan,
We’ve watched the video three times already. What a WONDERFUL job you did! We can’t even begin to imagine how many hours you must have spent editing it. So many delightful extras – the side-by-side shots, the music in the background (“My Cup Runneth Over”), the wonderful shots of the kids dancing…

Kate and Mike haven’t seen it yet, but have gotten lots of feedback.

They were so lucky to have found you! If you need us to give any
recommendations, put us on the list!!

Thank you for a job magnificently done!!

PROPS to Chris Proulx for his amazing job filming this incredible Red Sox celebration! It was SO much fun to edit!

Meg,

We absolutely have to get together for lunch or something! I have no idea how you pieced this together so perfectly without ever meeting David and me!

Without question … the best “investment” of our wedding day!  I had a very dear friend tell me shortly after we selected a wedding date to spend the money on a video.  I was hesitant at first wondering when I would actually sit down and watch it however I trusted her and decided to add it to the list.  Now I realize when the wedding is all said and done and the dress has been preserved, boxed and stowed away in the basement along with the 30+ centerpieces, leftover programs and favors all you have are your memories of the day and it is so important to have them captured forever.  Not to mention how incredibly fast the day goes by … before I knew it we were hopping in the boat and headed for our honeymoon island and it was over.  The video also showed me so much that I had missed.  Did you realize that during our rehearsal we figured there was room for only 66 chairs on the boat deck (I had 101 confirmed for the ceremony) … I had no idea how it came together but your video showed me that my brother and uncle made it all happen.  All I know is when I walked down the tiny aisle everyone was there and seated!

I don’t even know how to thank you for your efforts.  The editing, interviews, music … everything was perfect!  … right before our eyes on the Green Monster were our names and wedding date!  How cool was that?  We hadn’t even pushed “Play” yet.  We started the video and 10 seconds later started it again … was that really Babe Ruth … what?!?!?  How did they do that?  To say we were amazed would be the understatement of the year!  It was so incredible.  We had a very large guest list and wound up inviting over 300 people to our reception … only 100 people were actually witness to the ceremony!  I can’t wait to show this video off to the other 200!  What a treasure!

Thank you!

“I was laughing a bit watching the video too because a lot of it I didnt even know you were there or catching it!” – Lani

York Harbor Inn – York, ME: 08.08.08 from meg simone on Vimeo.

Hi Meg!
In Steve’s words you “lit it up!”.  I’ve already watched it a couple of times …amazing!! The whole beginning is so fun to see all the things we didn’t see ourselves- and all your scenery shots and everything are just perfect. You truly captured our entire day and all the people involved – you can feel the love in the air with everyone that was there!  It is so so fun.  We were so lucky to have found you and you have done an incredible job on this video.  You brought all the emotion, laughter, fun, smiles, and few tears into this video.  We couldn’t be more happy to have this now for the rest of our lives!

Thank you thank you!
Best,
Lani + Steve

I want to thank Samantha Warren Weddings for allowing me to share in this special day with Lani + Steve. Click on the link above to see photos from their wedding on Sam’s Blog. Sam you made a guest appearance in the video :)

Hi Meg-
I know that most (probably all) of your exchanges regarding our wedding have been with Lani and I wanted to weigh in with my appreciation of your work before too much time passed. Viewing the proof that you sent us left me speechless on more than one occasion. Not only was I choked up by reliving our wedding day and the emotions that came with that experience, I found myself at a loss for words because of your artistry and the passion that is evident in your work. The way in which you portrayed every aspect of our wedding day while tying in the challenging circumstances leading to my father’s unfortunate absence is incredible; I look forward to sharing the DVD you have created with my father when we visit him in Toronto. While I cannot speak for him, I do believe that you have done a great deal to make him feel as though he was just as much a part of our special day as were all of those in attendance. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Cheers,
Steve

I love keeping in touch with past clients so it was a huge treat to hear from Andrea + Jimmy who wed last Labor Day Weekend at Church Landing in Meredith, NH. I can’t believe that was a year ago! I just loved their wedding and the opening song they chose. Here’s to a year! Thanks for the continued compliments Andrea :)
An excerpt from her recent email:

“Everyone is STILL talking about our wedding!!!  We feel like it was yesterday.”
…I believe you deserve the praise because you did an awesome job!”
