Two reasons I smile when I think of Thia and Mike’s wedding. 1) I got pulled over on my way to meet them for the first time last fall because I wasn’t paying attention to anything but the beautiful foliage in the Lakes Region and 2) Thia’s super honest, yet funny story on getting engaged, and how she chose Church Landing as the location to host her wedding reception when she was only 9 years old. The ceremony was at The Castle In The Clouds on September 6, 2009.
Christine and John scored a perfect late August day on Lake Winnipesaukee for their reception at Church Landing. It was one of the only Church ceremonies I had all summer, so I didn’t do any pre ceremony coverage of the girls getting ready. It was a treat to hear First Class Band again, which you hear in the intro singing “Let My Love”, and you can see a full performance in the 2nd clip. They are Boston based, but travel throughout New England. It was fun to see the day through the eyes of photographers emilie inc (and J) so definitely have look at her blog post and album design, here.
This is the Full Wedding Edit: Total time 36 minutes, broken up into two clips.

Shannon and Ray had a wonderful day wedding at Church Landing, with some of the most unique and fitting decor I’ve ever seen! Ladd Hill Gardens did a great job tying in the use of succulents and birch trees to the Winnipesaukee Ball Room. You have to take a peak! Shannon dress, Ray’s suit and the Antique Model A Ford, were a perfect match to the venue and setting. I was only booked for three hours of coverage so we fit a lot into that time, which you can see in the full highlight below. To see the absolutely amazing photos from their wedding, check out Jennifer Stone’s blog post here.
Dear Meg,
We just wanted to let you know that we absolutely love the video package you sent us this week. Everything was beautiful and professional….You gave us such a wonderful gift- the gift of being able to see and remember our wedding! We cannot thank you enough. You are extremely talented and we are so happy to have worked with you.
Shannon
Michele and Adam were joined in marriage along the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee at Church Landing on Friday, August 7th. My relationship with Michele and Adam started out via email as most do, but ironically they met my friend Kaley’s mom Esther (they are the family that sometimes pops up on my site in the top right corner) at a retirement party after they booked me, and we noticed we had a “mutual friend” on FaceBook. When we finally met up a few weeks before the wedding, we both had the same earings on – life is so funny like that sometimes, it’s the little things I was having a blast going through all the footage today and re-listening to the stories and soundbites. I can’t help but smile when I think about Adam during the ceremony not quite saying the words “I Do”, but “yes” and then leaning over to whisper, “I meant to say I do” – or the sight of huge fish jumping in the lake during their sunset photo shoot, a celebratory thumbs up from mother nature, seeing that Adam had gone fishing earlier in the day. Thea from Authentic Eye did a great job picking some awesome water front locations for the photo shoot.
I waited to hear from Michele and Adam before posting, as they are still in Hawaii on their honeymoon. This is just a one minute sneak peak of what is to come. Thank you for letting me be a part of your celebration Meg
Guests traveled from all over the world for this destination wedding at Church Landing on Lake Winnipesaukee 5/22/09. An amazing day from the weather, setting, entertainment and more. Ladd Hill Gardens did a tremendous job with the ceremony details complimenting the new Sperry Tent and setting in an elegant yet natural way. The couple has significant ties to the lake so the location was fitting. They executed with ease many traditions throughout the day I had never seen, including special gifts from a “fairy godmother”, delivery of a special horseshoe, a log cutting ceremony and more!
This is the wedding video “open” leading up to the ceremony.
Genna + Rusty: Church Landing – May 22, 2009 View in HD
Dave and I were heading to video and photo a private ceremony on Lake Waukewan Friday afternoon, and as we approached Lake Winnipesaukee via Rt 25, the Sperry Tent at Church Landing immidealty caught my attention. After the event, Dave and I pulled in because we thought it would be a great opportunity to play around with some settings on my camera. I thought it would be fun to put up a little 30 second video on the tent because it was so beautiful! If I had planed to post the video before hand, I would have taken a few other shots from around the lake of what the tent looks like from a distance… needless to say it’s stunning and I can’t wait to shoot there this Friday! Congrats to James and Emily (Friday 5/15 on Lake Waukewan), Marianne and Tom (5/16 at the Publick House, Sturbridge, MA) and this Friday Genna and Rusty (Church Landing).
Has it been one year already? April 26th is the official date, but it feels like last week Stephanie and Andrew tied the knot at Church Landing. I still get goose bumps watching their video! This clip is just the open to show Church Landing in the Spring. March and April are typically slower months for wedding vendors, but I think more importantly it might be (from my observations but I could be way off) a slower time for guests? People may be more inclined to stay the weekend rather then just drive up for the day? I don’t know… if the ski resorts are closed and golf hasn’t started, you might as well enjoy some good company, a few spa treatments, shopping, and a weekend by the lake Steph chose a super fun song for her video open – I wouldn’t normally think “Jessica Simpson” but it worked great!
The weather outside today in the Mount Washington Valley instantly brings me back to a year ago this week at Church Landing. Jamie and Lenny (Irish) were ready to party the minute all 30 of Lenny’s relatives touched down at Logan. This just goes to show that no matter what Mother Nature throws your way on an incliment wedding day, you can still have the time of your life. This clip has great suggestions for inside the Winnipesaukee Ball Room (3:40 seconds in – cool Birch Trees with tea lights)
From the Bride: The video was amazing…we kept joking around and saying “its like she knows us!”…like the cliche says – we laughed, and we cried! It was just spectacular.
Jamie + Lenny’s Wedding Open
Kate and Mike (10/4/08 @ Church Landing) chose some great songs for their video – ones I had never edited to before. I loved Kate’s comment about this particular section: “…I think my favorites are at the end of “Already in a Daydream” when the kids are dancing around in a circle & you flash back & forth between that & different scenes leading up to that point…OH MY GOD those parts took my breath away & of course made me a puddle!”
Kate & Mike: October 4, 2008 at Church Landing – Meredith, NH The First Response: Just…..WOW. Meg, you are truly an artiste, my dear. The video is nothing short of incredible. The way you tied the music in, the background voices, the split scenes, the interviews….amazing! We’ve all been crying & laughing for two days watching & re-watching it over & over!!! What a gift you have. I think my favorites are at the end of “Already in a Daydream” when the kids are dancing around in a circle & you flash back & forth between that & different scenes leading up to that point, as the music feels like it is spinning, and also the very end of the long video with the “antique” feel to the film. OH MY GOD those parts took my breath away & of course made me a puddle! I cannot believe the moments you captured so perfectly–you’ve created the most amazing memories for us and we will have them forever. Even better than the way we remembered it all in our heads Meg, you are so incredibly talented! I really can’t say enough about how amazed we all are—it’s all we keep talking about (when we’re not watching it!).
I feel like I am saying the same thing over & over but we’re still just blown away by it & I am overwhelmed with excitement and emotion!!! I will probably be sending you a bazillion more emails just raving about how talented you are & how grateful we are to you for capturing our day so perfectly. THANK YOU!!!
A few days later:
Oh my gosh, Meg! I still just can’t get over how gifted & creative you are. Your video makes it seem like this amazingly unique & romantic movie that no one has ever seen before!!! I’m just so impressed at how talented you are, girl. We have watched it like 50 times!!!
I loved how Kate and Mike’s wedding program was artfully designed by Kate’s Aunt. Everyone at the wedding kept analyzing the programs trying to figure out how they were drawn. I was so excited because it gave me perfect DVD Menu Options. I always try to incorporate items from your wedding into the menus or graphics in your video – these happened to be particularly unique and creative so I wanted to share.
I just put Kate and Mikes 10/4 wedding proof video in the mail yesterday so they would have it in time for T-day… and despite the crazy snow and rain all day, the video arrived safe at Kate’s parents house. This was a wonderful email surprise to receive when the power came back on tonight Thank you Benoit’s! It was a true honor to be a part of the day
Meghan,
We’ve watched the video three times already. What a WONDERFUL job you did! We can’t even begin to imagine how many hours you must have spent editing it. So many delightful extras – the side-by-side shots, the music in the background (“My Cup Runneth Over”), the wonderful shots of the kids dancing…
Kate and Mike haven’t seen it yet, but have gotten lots of feedback.
They were so lucky to have found you! If you need us to give any
recommendations, put us on the list!!
Thank you for a job magnificently done!! (Mother of the Bride, Beth)
Kate & Mike's Fairy Tale Wedding Open at Church Landing
The Walsh wedding at Church Landing is definitely the topic of my week. I’ve been getting great comments, but I also need to clarify to potential clients that I don’t have to be “this involved” in your wedding dance party – by watching this video it’s evident that Martine and Kevin’s friends LOVE to party, and we had SO SO SO much fun feeding off the energy in the room which was what they wanted captured. Kevin… great “fish” move! DJ Pat Tecce once again turned the party up a notch and I will be posting specific clips on his “funnest table” game in coming weeks.
Brooklyn represents at Church Landing! I can hear the crowd going wild and see the bartenders running to get yet another wrack of glasses to fill. WOW WOW WOW! You guys never slowed down! DJ Pat Tecce was right, you would have partied until 4:30 am (and maybe you did??!) Martine was a stunning bride – her dress and the girls bridesmaids dress were unique and fitting for such a venue. Martine and Kevin made a CD for their guests and this song was on it – they also rocked out to it at the reception… I could go on and on about this party! So without further adooooooooo …
I love keeping in touch with past clients so it was a huge treat to hear from Andrea + Jimmy who wed last Labor Day Weekend at Church Landing in Meredith, NH. I can’t believe that was a year ago! I just loved their wedding and the opening song they chose. Here’s to a year! Thanks for the continued compliments Andrea
An excerpt from her recent email:
“Everyone is STILL talking about our wedding!!! We feel like it was yesterday.”
…I believe you deserve the praise because you did an awesome job!”
I’ve been editing the Sharp-Cornwell Wedding at Church Landing 4/26/08. Andrew can be seen tending bar at most other weddings so he may be a familiar face to those who have attended a wedding there. They had a all-star line up of vendors, and since most of them know Andrew, I will try to feature a photo or video clip of them here in coming weeks.
March 8, 2008 at Church Landing. The Christo-Brennan wedding was off the hook! This is just a sample clip – the audio may not be in sync. (Update, the audio is NOT in sync) Trying to work out glitches as I’m trying a new web video clip host so I can blog in High Def. Just FYI the file is large, so let it load for a bit before viewing. Thanks for your patience!
SMALL WORLD! I have to share this story! I filmed Steph and Andrew Cornwell’s wedding this past weekend at Church Landing and a gentleman came up to me… “are you Meg Simone? … I had a crush on your mother in grade school!”…. WOW… here are the “small world details” he just emailed me. I edited for some clarity.
“Long before I went to school with Jenny Swisher (Megs mom), my mother Grace Johnson went to Salem State Teachers College with two close friends, Becky Patten (Megs Grandmother) and Christine Yagian. My mother graduated in 1936, and I believe the other two were the same year or a close one.
When I moved from Newburyport to Newbury in 1953 I entered a fourth grade class that included your mother (Megs Mom). In grades 7 and 8 her mother (Megs Grandmother) taught us English and Social Studies and another teacher handled math and science.
My sister (two years older) kept in touch with Bill and Becky (Megs Grandparents) until she lost track of them. (They both passed, my grandmother a year ago TODAY) In May 2006 she received your letter to the names found in your grandmother’s address book (alerting them of her passing), and was quite pleased to have been on the list. It was a thoughtful and kind thing for you to have done.
My sister sent me a copy, and I noticed that your email address was at a domain named after you, and I checked out your website. Since my niece Stephanie had announced that she and Andrew were going to be married, I sent her a note to suggest a possible videographer if they had not yet selected one. So we show up and there you are, and I had to drop that line on you.
I love this time of the year… people finalizing details and meeting vendors for upcoming summer and fall weddings. I love explaining what goes on with the edit process, and ultimately it’s up to you, as I can provide any style of coverage and any kind of editing… but the question came up: “How do you transition from one thing to another?” ie the ceremony to cocktail hour…. Andrew and Elizabeth Manning from a 12/29/07 Church Landing wedding gave the thumbs up for a few clips on the blog. Here are a few short clips, I love that they chose DMB for some of their music It was Powerful!
This is just a few seconds from the entire transition, but you can see it just takes a few key shots to bridge that time frame.
A few short clips of “Search Party” The Band from the Manning Wedding.
You can see they play a little bit of everything!
The Dance footage was important to Elizabeth & Andrew so while they didn’t do a “formal” cake cutting, I quickly captured what they were missing on the dance floor… is that a little 80’s music I hear in there! 867-5309…..
This was a perfect display of affection between the groom and his new Father-in-law. You don’t see this at every wedding! Congratulations Andrew & Elizabeth Manning!
